This and That Thursday (on Sunday)...

Here are just some of the random things, thoughts and quotes that have occurred today in the Day and Life of the Row Family...

We tried (REALLY HARD I MIGHT ADD) to take the boys swimming this afternoon.

1st stop- Our YMCA: Closed for painting and sealing tile. What?!@# Who shuts down the pool on a weekend? Obviously someone who does NOT have children!

2nd stop- Mountlake Terrace Rec Center: Only open to scheduled parties on Sunday. Okay- that one is fair.

3rd (desperate) stop- Lynnwood Rec Center: They closed at 5...It is now 5:15 because we have been driving around trying to find a pool for over an hour.

Very long faces in the backseat now...unfortunately, there was no happy ending that found us at a pool.

First one up...
Okay- so we decided on just going to the old standby- McDonald's Playhouse. It worked. Now we have two McD's to choose from, and neither of them are close. Here is Morgan's sense of closeness...(with only a little bit of creative paraphrasing)...

Morgan: "Where are we going?"

One of the adults in the car: "To McDonald's."

Total silence for the next 2-3 minutes. (Well, probably not silence, but I sure don't remember what was said.) We are on the road to the one furtherest from home.

Morgan: "What?!@# We can't be going to THAT McDonald's, it's in AFRICA."

Again, total silence. What can you say to that?

Next one up...
Cade and Bob were having a super hero conversation on our drive home this evening. The conversation went something like this (sorta)...

Cade: "Daddy, do you know why Spiderman is red and blue? I do."

Bob: "Um, No Cade. I do not know why he is red and blue."

Cade: "Spiderman is Red and Blue and white with some black because he is for the United States."

Bob: "Never thought of that one Cade."

Good Night Everyone...

Family Game Night...

And the Winner is...

Cade and Bob dominated...

Morgan, well, he could have cared less. I kept looking over to his empty seat, and I wondered why we were still drawing cards for him???

6 year old + candyland = fun

3 year old + candyland = un-interested

Oh, well we tried!

Quote of the DAY...

Morgan has a swollen cheek, for some bizarre reason...

Mommy: "Morgan, what's wrong with your face?"

Morgan: "Nothing Mommy. It's just a scarf."

Ummmm. I think he meant 'scar', but at least he is up on the current fashions! I love how his little mind work!

Silly Saturday...

My silly boys posing with their fort...stay tuned for our Family Game Night post this evening!

Have a great day everyone.

Crazy Hat Day @ School...

Please ignore the empty Diet Pepsi cans and dirty dishes in the background. Thursday was a rough day...

Proud Parents: While I was off skiing with my girlfriends, Bob was busy managing the Boys at the PTA book trade and pizza night. Cade was selected to read in front of everyone at the school. He read an excerpt from 'Hop on Pop'. SO PROUD! Bob said he did great.

Crazy (insert word here) Day...

Cade's School is celebrating Read Across America all week so there are fun activities every day at school. They range from crazy hair day...to crazy sock day...to crazy hat day.

Monday was Crazy Sock Day- this would be my 'Not Me' moment. I really didn't send him to school in MY socks which are too big AND pink-ish in color. Sorry- I did not get proof with a picture. However, I did get proof tonight when he showed me that he wore them to school for Tuesday as well! Oh- the motherly shame...

Wendesday is Crazy Hair Day- What were we thinking when we got his hair cut on Saturday???? Now we can't do anything crazy with a 1/2" of hair, and I refuse to dye his hair. I know, I know- noone in their right mind would dye a six year olds tresses. WRONG! Parents can be CRAZY now a days and some of them will do anything to get noticed- even if they have to channel it THROUGH their Child. Sorry- But that is my opinion and it will not change. I had the pleasure of ease dropping on overhearing two mothers talking about their little girls hair, and how long it took the colorist to add the highlights. (HIGHLIGHTS? Come-on Mothers, the little girl could not have been more than 5! I promise she does not care...yet.) Now these were also the same mothers that sent the 'Group Email' in my Disbelief Post back in September, so anything is possible.

Friday is Crazy Hat Day- E-A-S-Y...We have enough hats to do this one. I am secretly hoping he picks the Dinosaur hat that Morgan loves so much.

Good Night!

Not Me Monday...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Goodness, where do I start?

I love my hubby and he was nice enough to cut back our hedge this past week. And now I don't drag the side of my car down the hedge when I pull out of the garage, fantastic right? So I did NOT curse his name the next day when I DID NOT take out my side mirror with my Garage. I mean, I was NOT using the hedge as a guide for how close I could get to the garage when pulling in and out. That is just crazy- No, Not Me!

I am not getting desperate for Cade to gain weight by feeding him an entire pan of cinnamon rolls. No mother would feed a hyper active child that much suger! NEVER!

What is it with me and my car???? I did not get away last night to de-stress at the movies to then only get in my car afterward and find that it's battery was not dead. This didn't cause me ANY stress either, especially as I waited for a Yellow Cab for over 30 minutes in the pouring rain.. Can you believe that? Not me, I can't believe it!

I never once thought I was crazy out of my mind when Cade decided to do a dinosaur craft which took 95% mommy help and 5% Cade help. And I did not lose my temper when Cade told Morgan that Mommy would make him one too! Talk about over promising. I did not make two. Nope, I promise I did not.

I hope you enjoy and remember to look forward to your own not me moments this week. These are the things that make us real...Enjoy the week.
