Not Me Monday...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

My boys both have there own favorite sandwich. One is a plain ham sandwich and the other is a turkey sandwich with mustard. Now seems pretty simple, but sometimes we confuse the simplest things. So- lets get to the point- I did NOT find myself in a public bathroom last week cleaning mustard off of Morgan's sandwich in a public restroom because I indeed mixed up their sandwiches. Lovely. Can I have some soap with that? Or maybe a square of toilet paper???

I am the perfect mother...REALLY! I promise, that's why I do NOT let my boys climb onto the roof of our cars every time I turn my head. I mean - According to Morgan, "Momma, Spiderman does it!"

I'm a fantastic wife...(again) REALLY! That is why I would never consider standing in line for an hour with my husband last Monday to purchase the new iphone 3Gs. Lines? I despise lines and crowd for that matter make me panicky.

Oh and check out the below photo. It was taken at Edmonds Beach on Saturday. Morgan was an angel.

(insert picture here)

What? You can't see the picture? Hmmm...I can't understand why. I mean I would not get all the way down to the beach and pull out my camera to find out I DID NOT forget to put the battery in to take the above gorgeous shot...

Oh well, that's all I have for you. Have a wonderful time this week making new Not ME Moments...

Not Me Monday...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was made possible by MckMama. Goodness! That did not just sound like the last line in a bad advertisement... Now- please head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. I certainly had a few this week.

Oh I had the most wonderful conversation with my friend G when we were at her house for a play date. Now during this conversation, I did NOT see my youngest child walk from around the corner while pulling up his pants. Now very loudly I yelled from across the yard calmly I stood up and asked him what he was doing. His response was NOT, "But Mommy I had to go pee outside. And look Mommy- I made the letter 'C'." I most certainly did NOT start laughing out loud when I looked down to see a perfectly 'drawn' letter C.

Today was well actually tomorrow is but close enough extreme low tide at our charming little beach. Our boys had a great time. So Bob & I most certainly did NOT find ourselves marooned on one of the sand bars as the tide started to come back in. And we most certainly DID NOT have to take our shoes and socks off and then piggy back ride our boys across one of the deep waterways. That is just way too dangerous. Please do NOT try that one - EVER!

And finally, while at the same beach there was a meeting of quite a few Corgy (aka the Queen's Dog) owners. They are just the sweetest little dogs with their stunted legs and tubby little bodies. I did NOT think it was the cutest thing on earth when an 8 month old puppy started chasing Morgan. He was having so much fun with this little dog right on his heels -well at least I thought he was having fun - until I looked up and saw a look of pure terror on his face with big tears rolling down his cheeks. I am NOT one of those Mother's that starts laughing AND comforting their child at the same time. NOPE! Not Me!

Now go out and make some more Not Me! Moments for yourself. They are what make us who we are...

11 of 52... (aka 'The Maps')

Forever In Blue Jeans

The Boys and I took a trip to Woodland Park Zoo on Sunday. It is always a challenge with two strong willed boys, but the boys were delightful for most of the visit. I gave the camera over to Cade at the beginning and he got the first in a serious of Morgan's obsession with the Zoo Map...

oh, sometimes this kid shows signs of brilliance- And then, he makes a face like this...

Quote Story of the DAY...

My little Morgan is a story teller. Sometimes I wonder where he gets it from because his ideas are fairly fresh, and some- like tonights- are just plain spooky. So the conversation story went something close to this...

Morgan: "Cade, when the lights go out things happen. Scary things happen."

Me: (In my head) Great. Cade is going to have nightmares tonight because of a 4 year old and his imagination.

Cade: "What?!@?"

Morgan: "When the lights go off in my room I hear a voice." In a whisper now, "I am the ghost....ooooooo....with one black eye....oooooo."

Me: (In my head again) What??? Now out loud, "Ha ha ha...Morgan there are no such things as ghosts. You know this right?"

Morgan: (He ignores me and continues) "...and sometimes I hear knocking underneath my bed. "

STOP! So now he is bringing up memories of my nightmares, where the carpet was actually water and all the great white sharks were under my bed waiting for me to take one step off my bed. Okay I digress...I need to get back to Morgan's story.

Me: "Okay sweetie. I think that is enough storytelling."

Morgan: "But there is a baby in the basement Mommy...and he is a criminal."

Me: (Okay one more moment in my head) Did my baby boy just use the word CRIMINAL????

Morgan: "See the baby got rid of the black eyed ghost. And he wasn't scared, but he was a criminal too."

So is that clear everyone??? I can't WAIT for his next story. I am sure it will involve dinosaurs - or even better- Chameleons, his latest obsession.

Night everyone...

I know I have been gone for a few weeks on this one. Hey! Sometimes I do everything perfect. hmmmm. Not Me!

So I did not let the boys stay up until 10:30 Saturday Night knowing full well that I would then get to slep in Sunday Morning. Not Me! Nope - I would never do that!

I have my first ever book club this evening. I am so embarrassed that I did not finish the book it is such a very, very, very bad book ....ummmm, Not Me! So NOT embarassed!

So short list this week...I know there will be more next Monday. So go out an experience your own Not Me! Moments.

If you ever wondered...

...why people live in the Northwest where there are so many grey days...

...any Questions? Oh - and we are going on week four of no rain. I sure miss the rain.

Sandboxes and Gravity...

Morgan has recently become obsessed with sand boxes.

HE LOVES THEM. There is a great little restaurant down by the Edmonds Marina Beach called "Anthony's Beach Cafe". It has a great sand boxes right on the dock. This picture from Wordless Wednesday was taken on the same dock.

...Alas, even Morgan has to deal with the pesky concept of gravity. I am sure he wishes he could fly, and he sure had fun trying. My fearless flyer. Even Cade got in on the action...

Now- if only I could teach him to STOP burying playing with his cars in the sand. One casualty this week somewhere on the beach...It was a classic -Solar Eagle - *sigh* I am sure he will remember it is missing soon.

So now - How much sand do you think we have in our cars and our home? Oh Well. He loves it...

Forever In Blue Jeans

I know, I have bad aim, but at least I am in the photos! They're kind of artsy...Don't you think? NO! don't tell me- let me just imagine they are...I mean I went to design school for 4 freaking years. I must have a fairly decent eye right??? (sigh)

Anyway, off my soapbox.

These were taken in our back yard Wednesday Night. the boys were exceptionally well behaved. Could be because I paid them .05 cents for every pine cone they picked up. Is that bribery? I don't think so, but now I owe them $13.00 combined...YES! I KNOW THAT IS A LOT OF PINE CONES TO PICK UP... Can you blame me for 'losely' highering under-age help???

Happy Birthday, Sis...

...for all those years that you took care of me (staked me to the ground & fed me bread and water).

...for all the years that you lived with me (by force & by choice).

...for the countless times I had to apply aloe vera to your sunburns (ahhh- Teva sandals leave great tan lines)

...for all the years you put up with my loud mouth (ummm, sorry but that hasn't changed.)

...thank you for loving me through it all as much as I love you.

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
